‘The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;’ (Titus 2:3)
Aged women?? But, I’m not old…
In behaviour as becometh holiness?? but, I’m not holy…
‘That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love heir husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.’ (Titus 2:4 & 5)
Teach young women… hmm, maybe.
All day, for days I searched.
You Tube, blogs, websites, Pinterest…
Searching, searching, searching for some sort of Encouragement for Christian Women, something, anything.
I found nothing. Zip.
Then the conversation between Papa and myself started…
‘I want you to start something Donna.’
‘Me?’
‘Yes, you.
I want you to be a teacher of good things.’
‘But, Papa, I’m the one searching for encouragement…’
‘I know Donna, that’s why I want you to start something.
That’s why I want you to be a teacher of good things.’
Jumping in head first like I always do, I chose the blog name, of good things.
I set up an email account, ofgoodthings@gmail.com.
I was ready to start… something.
‘Now wait.’
‘What?’
‘Yes, wait Donna. I’ll tell you when.’
I hate waiting…
Three years later…
‘Okay, now…
Start it now.
Open an Instagram account, @of good things, and start posting.’
‘Now, start following these encouraging women I bring to your feed.’
‘Now, download the Periscope app so you can watch them and really get to know them!!’
‘Now, I want you to scope.’
‘There’s your encouragement, Donna, it’s in the encouraging.’
‘Oh, by the way…
You’re living your dream now.
You remember your dream right?
To be an encourager of women?
To have a ministry of being an encourager?
Of making a little money on Etsy?
Remember Donna? Did you notice you’re living right in the middle of that now?’
(I’m certain He was smiling at me when He told me that.)
‘Okay, now I want you to launch the blog.
Go ahead and tell all these wonderful ladies, I’ve connected you with, all the wonderful, good things you’ve been longing to tell them.
Do it now…
Pour out your heart…
And be encouraged.’
