A few years back I got a call from my daughter. “Mom, do you know there’s a kind of Bible you can draw and paint and do art in? It’s called a Journaling Bible. You should get one.”

What????!!!! I’m pretty sure the room started spinning. For real!

So I searched on Instagram for this ‘new’ kind of Bible. And…. what is the first photo that comes up? This one of Queen Celeste’s @precious.to.me Bible of course!!! Not gonna lie, I gasped with delight. And I’m sure the angels started singing the hallelujah chorus!

Well, I was hooked!! I had never seen anything like this before! Until I saw this ribbon laden, drawn in, insides spilling out Bible, I didn’t know I had to have one of my own. LOL.

My first Journaling Bible was a Single Column which meant it had a wider margin on the side of each page of scripture for note taking or in my case for art. Although I was having the time of my life learning this new ‘thing’, I was limited in the art I added to it’s pages. I was being so cautious! I didn’t ever want to cover the scriptures. So I decided to get a different style.

I had heard of the Interleaved Journaling Bible that has a full blank sheet next to every page of scripture and decided to give it a try. I loved the layout! It allowed me the freedom to ‘art’ to my heart’s content and not cover any of the The Word. Win/Win!! Enter the happy dance and more angel singing!

Also, enter more searching. This time it was a fun search for ideas, and how to’s and, well you get the idea.

We all know where that landed me… Smack dab in the middle of the most wonderful, Jesus lovin’, paper lovin’, journal lovin’, planner lovin’ etc., etc., etc. women I have ever been blessed to know. What an encouraging community!!

So here’s to chunky Bibles filled with tear stains and art from our Jesus worshipping hearts. To journals and planners armed with the Word of God that strengthen us in this war called life and help us stay on task in our day. To dear Sister/Friends whose necks I’ve not hugged…YET.
